McClarrons’ “Vines Vixens” brave the mud for Cancer Research

On Saturday Becky Ireland, Joanna Brooke, Michelle Inman, Zoe Fawcett and Sophie Garnett stepped out of their roles in McClarrons’ farm team and into their running shoes to tackle 5K obstacle course, Pretty Muddy.

Held at York Racecourse, the team, collectively named The Vines Vixens, joined the 5000 other women who ran and slid their way over obstacles and across the finish line, in an event which raised more than £360,000 for Cancer Research.

With blues skies there was no rain to contribute further to the mud, which was available in bucket loads to greet runners as they cascaded down an inflatable slide.

Becky Ireland said that it was all worth it for the cause and the fun: “We had so much fun taking part in Pretty Muddy and it makes it even better to know that we have helped raise money for such a worthwhile cause. So far we have raised £685!”.

Sophie Garnett is already looking forward to the next time, “We have had such fun doing the run that we are already planning for next year’s, we can’t wait!”

We look forward to seeing them get even muddier next time!
